Hello, I'm currently in 9th grade, and my GPA isn't perfect.
To be honest, after seeing the extracurriculars of someone on this platform, I feel behind. I want some ideas on medical extracurriculars. Preferably, related to chemistry (pharmacology), neurology, surgery, or biology.
You're not behind at all---you're only in 9th grade, so you have PLENTY of time.
I'd recommend starting off in some sort of clinical/medical club, like HOSA (Future Health Professionals.) That might help you to dive into some interests and start to learn about them in a semi-formal setting. If you're already in one or your school doesn't have one, you could always volunteer or shadow at a local medical center. Look up opportunities online in your area. I'd also take any classes that are available in your county pertaining to those subjects.
If you're located in a rural area or those opportunities don't accept minors, I would do some independent research or a service project related to your interests. It shows interest and impact and still works with your limited situation.
