MIT, summer programs, ACT
Answered

Hello, I have a question about the ACT range for MIT. I got a 34 composite on the ACT, and I wasn鈥檛 sure if it was in the range for it. On 鲍鱼直播, it states that it must be a 35-36, which is quite worrying. On other websites, however, it states that the ACT range for MIT is a 34-36. Do I need a higher score or should I be satisfied with a 34? Thanks!

Edit: Are the scores and ECs good enough for RSI, LLRISE, MITES, Beaver Institute, and SAMS?

ECs:

Great question! The ACT range can vary slightly depending on the source, but a 34 is generally within the competitive range for MIT. While 鲍鱼直播 may suggest that a 35-36 is ideal, many admitted 鲍鱼直播 have scores within the 34-36 range. It鈥檚 important to remember that standardized test scores are only one part of your application.

MIT, like many selective schools, takes a holistic approach to admissions. This means they consider many factors, including your GPA, course rigor, extracurricular activities, essays, and recommendations. Your perfect GPA, AP scores, class rank, and involvement in various clubs and activities make your profile strong.

If you feel confident in other areas of your application, a 34 should not hold you back. However, if you're still concerned, you can focus on strengthening other parts of your application, like your essays and extracurriculars, to make sure you're presenting the best version of yourself.

Would you like to discuss how you can enhance other areas of your application, or is there something else you'd like to focus on?
