Paying for College

Ivy League Financial Aid
Answered

Hello. I:

- come from an upper class family (gross income of approximately between 200,000-300,000 (could be slightly more or less))

- am biracial (white and brown (Indian))

- am a female identifying as queer and transmasculine

- will most likely be paying for college on my own, especially if I go to a private university

- have no diagnosed physical nor mental disabilities

I am a ninth grader, and I have been looking to get into an Ivy League. However, I need to figure out a way to obtain financial aid. Unfortunately, from the research I have done, it seems that Ivy Leagues work primarily on need-based aid. However, my parents are unwilling to pay for anything outside of Virginia colleges (see GMU, JMU, potentially UVA, etc.). As of August 2028, I will be 18 and a legal adult.

If anyone has any recommendations on how to get financial aid in this case, any job/project recommendations I could get paid for in order to save up for college admission fees/tuition, or even any advice on how to get into an Ivy League in the first place, that would be greatly appreciated. Any and all counsel is appreciated, and please ask questions if you would like. Thank you.

You should try applying for scholarships! If you start now, and apply to a couple every week, you could potentially help lessen the cost of university. There's scholarship websites like Bold and Scholarships360, where you can find different scholarships you can apply to!
